Cami is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and Registered Massage Therapist. Cami has had a lifelong curiosity about the artistic and scientific nature of the human body. After studying dance at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, she was drawn to attend Sutherland-Chan School to learn massage therapy. Since graduating in 2007, she has continued her education in Osteopathy and has completed a 5-year program at the Canadian College of Osteopathy.

In November 2016, she presented her thesis and earned her diploma in osteopathic manual practice (D.O.M.P.) and diploma in the science of osteopathy (D.Sc.O.). Cami holds active memberships to the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (OAO), The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), and Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario (RMTAO).

Cami works closely with her clients to help them achieve their health goals. She approaches each client individually, basing treatment on health history and physical assessment. She uses both osteopathic and massage therapy approaches to help promote a better state of overall balance.

What is Osteopathy? Osteopathy is a holistic, hands-on approach to treating pain and dysfunction that focuses on restoring proper function and movement within the body. It is based on the understanding that all systems of the body operate together to create and sustain health. Osteopathy views the body as a whole and aims to identify and treat the source of the pain and dysfunction rather than the symptoms, with the goal of providing permanent rehabilitation. Please wear comfortable clothing made from thin fabric to your appointment – something that will not restrict movement and will allow access to the spine and pelvis. (Avoid jeans, thick waistbands, and sports bras that cover the spine.)

What to Expect in the Initial Consultation: In the initial visit, a thorough health history is taken and there is a discussion of goals for the treatment. Physical assessments will also be performed before the treatment gets underway. Afterwards, an ongoing treatment plan and self-care recommendations will be given.

Rose’s passion for bodywork was inspired by her dedication to her yoga practice and by the body’s natural intelligence to heal and restore itself. What initially drew her to yoga continues to inspire her practice today: its ability to challenge her outer form to transform her inner one, while both expanding and evolving her life and her relationships.

Rose is a graduate of Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic and has had the opportunity to work with a diverse client base. Her style incorporates both strong and soothing techniques to help break the bonds of adhered tissues, as well as provide a gentle touch to help relieve anxiety and aid in pain relief. She has developed treatment plans to effectively treat both chronic and acute conditions based on their clinical presentation. Her experience includes helping people who are looking to improve mobility/flexibility, pre/postnatal care, repetitive strain injuries, postural imbalances, trigger point therapy, muscle spasms, sports injuries and headaches.

Regardless of the nature of the presenting complaint, Rose believes in treating the individual as a whole, which includes not only attending to the physical body, but making a healthy connection to the mind and spirit as well. She believes that touch is a powerful tool in the healing process and tries to focus her intention and attention on not just the tissue beneath her hands, but on the being inside the body. She offers her absolute presence and energy to every treatment.
